Stop Fake Bearings
Counterfeit bearings. If you import, distribute or use bearings, the idea of receiving, selling or installing a counterfeit one is an ever-present concern. Not only are counterfeit bearings an assault on the public trust and public safety – but they’re also an attack on (all of) our livelihoods.
Some of you may not remember the days when counterfeiting of original (or manufacturer's) bearing boxes threatened to destabilize the surplus bearing industry. The counterfeiter’s tools have obviously become more sophisticated but the net effect is the same: financial and reputational loss, industry-wide instability and unacceptable risk.
COREDEMAR is proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with bearing manufacturers, importers and others against counterfeit bearings. We believe in aggressive enforcement, stiff penalties and ongoing education as our most effective tools to stop the trade. We also believe that manufacturers and importers should take the lead as resources to the general public and law enforcement.
That’s why COREDEMAR recently covered this subject of counterfeit bearings in to addressing the threat posed by industrial (not only bearings) counterfeiting. We’ll continue to cover the topic and will update this page as needed.
Ultimately, we believe the best way to protect our interests and reputation from fake ball bearings are education and vigilance. The issue is real. Anyone who uses or buys bearings should learn about it, ask questions of your suppliers and – if you see or suspect someone trying to pass off counterfeit bearings – contact the authorities.
If you have any questions about counterfeit bearings, contact COREDEMAR at any time.
