Following is a very brief Q&A about this blog. If you have any questions or comment, just leave them below.
Do we – as Coredemar, Ltd. – really need a blog?
No, we don’t. More often than not, our business comes down to a quote and a quantity. But if we aspire to be more than mere order takers… if we aspire to engage with our industry in a meaningful way… and if we want to put a stake in the ground as a different kind of bearing supplier, we need to express our point of view. And in the digital world, that means we have to generate content. The blogging platform is the one with which we’re most familiar.
What sort of content will you generate?
Our content will fall into three broad categories:
- The first category is knowledge sharing. We’ve been continuously engaged in the sale of ball bearings for more than 50 years. That’s a lot of bearings, a lot of experience gained and a lot of lessons to share. For instance, we’re planning an early post for bearing distributors about the five questions you should always ask when someone inquires about precision spindle bearings.
- The second category is information sharing. In an ideal world, we’d commit to a new original post every day. In the real world, we’ll be lucky to write a new post every week. More often than not, we’ll include a collection of links and brief commentary in the style of Glenn Reynolds at www.instapundit.com.
- The last category is experience sharing. Every so often, we’ll share a relevant (or not at all relevant) experience from our lives, generally with a vague attempt to tie it back to something industry related.
